Next Meeting is July 2nd

The topic of discussion for that evening will be:

“I am a believer but I find myself drifting from Him even though I pray and read my Bible – How can I stop from drifting?”

To start, post comments on what your feelings are when you “first” read this statement. I know all of you have at least a thought on how this grabs you. Just let it out and let us all know what your thoughts are.

So until my next posting, “….let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25. May the Lord bless you as only He can!!

June 18th Stir Meeting

Tomorrow night we will be doing the “Encouragement Game”. It will be very uplifting to all, simple and should be a lot of fun. To prepare for it everyone should think of one encouraging thing about each person that comes to our meetings. Remember that thought about each person and come prepared to uplift one another.

So until tomorrow, “….let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25. May the Lord bless you as only He can!!

Next Stir Meeting, June 18th..............

There are only four days until the next Stir meeting. We will be doing the “Encouragement Game” in place of our topical discussion. To begin thinking about the “Encouragement Game” I thought it would be great to look at scripture first. Here are two scriptures to meditate on:

“There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.”
Proverbs 12:18

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
I Thessalonians 5:11

So, “….let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25. May the Lord bless you as only He can!!

Blessings,

A week has gone by since our last meeting. I pray that everyone has had a moment to think about last week’s discussion on “Growing up in a Christian family and not feeling sure if we are saved”. I think all of us agreed that the only way to know that we are saved is that we must have that “personal relationship” with Jesus. As it says in John 14:6 “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This is something we must all do and can’t assume that if our parents have this relationship we also have this relationship. We must make that personal, from the heart, decision.

We can have times of doubts. In those times we must fall back on biblical truths / facts. It was discussed that we must grab hold of the facts about our faith to walkthrough those times of doubt. Our belief is based on first fact, then faith and feelings. It must be in that order. Our feelings are based on our faith and our faith is based on facts. Wow! What a solid foundation we have in Christ.

It was also discussed that we shouldn’t judge others on their salvation and we should know others have this walk by the fruit in their lives. And we should only confront someone out of love and a close relationship with that person. As it say in John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

So, “….let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25. May the Lord bless you as only He can!!
