Blessings,
A week has gone by since our last meeting. I pray that everyone has had a moment to think about last week’s discussion on
“Growing up in a Christian family and not feeling sure if we are saved”. I think all of us agreed that the only way to know that we are saved is that we must have that “personal relationship” with Jesus. As it says in John 14:6
“I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This is something we must all do and can’t assume that if our parents have this relationship we also have this relationship. We must make that personal, from the heart, decision.
We can have times of doubts. In those times we must fall back on biblical truths / facts. It was discussed that we must grab hold of the facts about our faith to walkthrough those times of doubt. Our belief is based on first fact, then faith and feelings. It must be in that order. Our feelings are based on our faith and our faith is based on facts. Wow! What a solid foundation we have in Christ.
It was also discussed that we shouldn’t judge others on their salvation and we should know others have this walk by the fruit in their lives. And we should only confront someone out of love and a close relationship with that person. As it say in John 13:34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
So, “….let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:24-25. May the Lord bless you as only He can!!
Your Bro in Christ,
Tom
